Get Backers v. Prince of Tennis O_o;

I actually seriously stepped out of the PoT fandom today.
Yup, I went and checked out some Get Backers fans and their opinions. And it made me realize something: I'm the kind of fangirl that's apparently hated. o_o
Most of these people's views on slash in GB were like "it's okay and even super-cute as long as it's really there and there's at least SOME het stuff". Non-canon stuff and out-of-characterness is the absolute worst, and subtle slash fic is preferred for a shounen series like GB. Fangirls who pair two characters just for the sole reason that they're male and write fanfics about them are the bane of any fandom's existence.
Then I thought, that's almost exactly what the PoT fandom is like. Insane pairings like InuixFuji or SengokuxAkutsu are supported along with the more obvious ones like OishixEiji and InuixKaidoh. PoT fans freak over yaoi hints and describe the slash as one of the series' main points. To me, the reason why it's not at all annoying is that we don't take things too seriously. I like the idea of SengokuxMizuki but I don't actually think it'll happen or force it on others. It's just very amusing to consider. It's hard to pull off an insane pairing in GB tho, since the guys are still so testosterone-y :P. But getting incredibly fangirly and squealy like this over the slash in GB isn't a harbinger of doom, right? It's okay to be obsessed over how cute and slashy Ban and Ginji are. It's all good as long as the fanfics are of quality :P.
Going thru some of their livejournal entries, I also found nearly everyone was bowled over by how slashy Ban and Ginji were in a series that also has scantily-clad girls with big boobs. When I watched Get Backers, eps. 1-4, I barely noticed the slash. All I remember noting is Ginji calling Ban "Ban-chan". (mind you, I was still a fan of GB despite the small slash :P) I didn't even think about them as a real couple until I saw the new opening and ending sequences in which case I was bowled over too ^^;. I wonder if this is because I'm used to super-service slash like in PoT so compared to that, GB isn't all that obviously slashy. While others who aren't used to girly shounen are shocked at say, how close Kadsuki and Jubei are (not shocked in a bad way, just terribly surprised such a couple would be in a shounen series), I was just amused when I found out. Get Backers is probably their first girly-type shounen (<-- new genre nowadays ^^;) series. How close Ginji and Ban-chan are can be pretty surprising but it's not much compared to say, OishixEiji of Prince of Tennis. ^^;;
Comparing Get Backers to Prince of Tennis is strange though. Both are cheesy and melodramatic shounen series that don't take themselves too seriously but there's some profound difference I can't quite put my finger on. Maybe it's cause GB actually has fanboy service while PoT has practically nil. In fact, females are almost shone in a bad light in PoT, while the women of GB are actually cool. GB also has almost as much chibiness as Fushigi Yuugi while all the chibiness in PoT was concentrated in ep. 64. Or maybe GB is just more aesthetically pleasing. ^^; GB tho at least has plot and story arcs; PoT has.... tournements and filler eps (albeit insanely fun filler eps).
Sigh, maybe there are just cynical fangirls out there who can't take idiot fangirls who write bad fanfic invading the fandom. Sure those sort of fangirls are annoying but I just ignore them. The Fushigi Yuugi fandom has some pretty irritating stuff (TasukixChichiri >_>) but I just go past those and head for what I do like (KoujixTasuki! ^^).
And about today's title...... sounds like a crossover doesn't it? (Ep. 27 alternate ending: Ban and Ginji must get back Karupin!) Actually wouldn't a Gravi/GB crossover be amusing? Against Tohma's advice, Ryuichi calls the Get Backers to find lost Kumagorou~!! ........right, i'll stop now.
Feel free to comment, someone, Please! I'd like to know if I'm wrong on some points or not. ^^;
