I've got a Tenipuri question.
Was there a PoT New Year's special that I don't know about?

I thought the chibi ep 64 was it. I've heard something about a funny special and that Tezuka loses a match in it.
*is terribly confused*
I thought the chibi ep was the special. @_@
*also wants to see this other thing if it exists* grr, wanna see.

After being reminded again of that Inukai scene in the water w/ the swinging towel (@_@), I've realized that Prince of Tennis is like a slash fangirl's dream come true.

The series is about as slashy as you can get without being actual official slash, like Gravitation or Yami no Matsuei. Sorta like Tsume & Toboe in Wolf's Rain except slashiER. (me wuv tsume's outfit wheeee!)
*cough*
Now you may ask how can a semi-slashy series be a fangirl's dream? And I say it's because of the fun of being ambiguous and the underlying sexual tension. ^____^
I've realized before that Gravitation (the anime) just isn't as fun slash-wise as Yami no Matsuei (the anime) and I came to the conclusion that it's because in Gravi, the gay couple is set and canon while in YnM you have the fun of seeing the couple get together(i think) or there are no set couples at all but lots of hints for everyone. The groping helps too. ^_~
Anyway, that's the same in PoT. There are so many couple possibilities for a fangirl to have fun with (ex. Momo and/or Fuji go well w/ lots of charas). There's no set couple (tho i have theories) which is more fun cuz if a couple did get together then there'd be no more fun tension and flirting.
And because PoT is a sports animanga, the slash isn't as expected. So when say, Oishi knows which way Eiji's teddy bear falls, it seems much more noticeable and squealworthy than if the show was a shounen-ai series. Though because it is a sports animanga, that means teenage boys running around in shorts sweating and panting w/ their shirts riding up and... yeah. ^_^

Everybody's just so slashy with each other in Prince of Tennis.

It's so fun to giggle at some scene where so-and-so is playing a match with so-and-so and there's all this super-tension (ex. "Give it to me, Echizen! Hit it! Hit it! Hit it!" @_@) or where there's "special training" or "warming up" involved. There's everybody's sense of fashion like Mizuki's infamous shirt and Tezuka's habit to wear lilac. There's the fact that all the remotely eligible girls are annoying as hell so of course the guys would focus on each other. And i think I lost my point somewhere... ^^;

But anyway, Prince of Tennis is just so much damn unexpected fun. ^_______^

I've been on such an Inukai kick cuz of ep 59, can you tell? ^^;
