Saw an icon that made me think. It was a PoA movie pic, of Sirius kneeling in front of Harry with a hand on his cheek, and the text was "the person Sirius cared about most in the world was you".
And sadly, it took me a while to remember that's a line from Dumbledore, at the end of OotP.
I really ought to re-read those chapters of Harry in Dumbledore's office, since they are the resolution chapters that explain everything. But I don't really want to. I don't want to read those chapters again, even it it has been nearly a year. And a lot of stuff that happened in the climax and resolution, they're still a blur in my memory; I only read them once. And I don't want to read those parts again either.
I really ought to, shouldn't I? At least before book 6 comes out.
That icon's quote also made me think of this part in the X manga. No, really.
When Fuuma explains Nataku's wish: to protect her/his(?) most precious person and to die by the hand of his/her most beloved person. I remember being confused whether there was a difference between "precious" and "loved", wouldn't they be the same person?
But I guess, someone you care about the most, your most precious person, is the one you'd want to protect at all costs. While the most beloved person is well, the one you love the most, period (hideki & chii!).
But this is putting Clamp definitions on JKR work, so maybe not. O_o;
and
I had sworn up and down I wouldn't read any spoilers about TEH BIG DEATH. Although, at the same time, I was convinced it was either going to be Hagrid or Neville. ehehe.
Of course, reading other people's stricken/pissed but vague reactions to it didn't make me feel any better.
Anyway, I started reading the book, not having much of a clue to who it was; I even thought it might be Mr. Weasley when he got attacked. So, yaddayadda, I read, giggled, got annoyed, and so forth (Umbridge, Cho, and Fudge should die).
I finished the "Occlumency" chapter and was planning to stop and finish the next day. So I thought I would go online for a bit before bed, and went to do what I'd been doing for the past few days: reading other people's "so far" thoughts/reactions to the book; particularly this journal. She already knew who died and you had to highlight text to read spoilers. So far, any spoilers in an entry had to do with whatever chapter she was talking about and I figured that would continue.
OH HOW I WAS WRONG.
At THIS entry, I thought, "hey, I'm past chapter 21! I can read her post!" *highlights* *starts reading* *pause* *re-reads* ............................ *head desks REPEATEDLY* *screamRAGEscreamARGH* "WELL NOW I HAVE TO KEEP ON READING."
At the time, it must have been around 3 am. When I finished the book, it was 2:25 pm. Blargh.
